Hydrologic and Hydraulic Engineer
Responsibilities:

Perform Hydrologic and Hydraulic analyses using unsteady state and 2D models.

Perform GIS analyses to support engineering and technical services.

Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling of streams, rivers, drainage systems, and other stormwater conveyance and storage features

Preparing reports, studies, and designs related to hydrologic and hydraulic analysis
-
Working with H&H team members to mentor and enhance modeling skills
-
Performing analysis for watershed projects such as mitigation using stormwater detention, bridge hydraulic studies, preparing CLOMRs and LOMRs, storm sewer network modeling, and culvert design
-
Perform hydrologic and hydraulic studies utilizing HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and XPStorm.

Prepare and process CLOMR and LOMR applications through local agencies and FEMA.

Prepare Storm Water Management Plans for sites with complex drainage.

Exercise knowledge of the construction process as it relates to permitting and surveying requirements.

Work closely with state and other municipal authorities to ensure all appropriate approvals are granted prior to commencement of construction.

Manage multiple projects and multiple team members.
Capabilities and Credentials:
-
Five plus (5 ) years’ experience in the analysis/design of water resources projects, including: hydrologic/hydraulic modeling (SWMM, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, etc.).

Experience in H&H studies, floodplain impact analysis & mitigation design
-
Knowledge of local criteria in Central Texas preferred

Prior experience in TxDOT bridge, watershed evaluation, and hydraulic projects preferred
-
Experience with FEMA guidelines and standards, map update process, and/or permitting a plus.

Proficient with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD Civil 3D, InfoWater, InfoSWMM, WaterCAD, InfoWorks ICM, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS or equivalent software.

Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Desired Computer skills: Microsoft Project or equivalent scheduling tools and ArcView/GIS

OSHA training a plus

Must have valid driver’s license
Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent industry experience in land development
-
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Texas or ability to obtain or transfer within 6 months of hire date.

Minimum of 5-6 years of experience.

Prior work on FEMA studies (LOMR, C-CLOMR, LOMR-F, CLOMR-F, LOMA etc.) preferred
